Recently I visited Polo forest second time after 3
years and this time my experience was totally different and amazing. As we
decided to stay overnight in Polo forest, we spent lot of time doing nothing
but just seating at dam site, river side in forest and walk around different
nearby places. Let me share some brief information about Polo forest.
Polo forest is a beautiful eco-tourist place
located near Abhapur village of Vijaynagar taluka; around 150 KM from
Ahmedabad. The place is blessed with lot of natural resources, historical
places, dam, and river surrounded by mountain ranges. The perfect place for one
day picnic!
Brief information about sightseeing in Polo Forest:
Harnav River and dam, Shiv temple at Sharneshwar,
Lakhena temple, Jain temple are few of the places I visited in Polo forest
during my two trips. As most of the places are located in nearby area, you can
easily visit them in single day trip. If you love spending time in nature, you

How to reach at Polo Forest
If you are travelling from Ahmedabad, the route to
Polo forest is very well maintained and will hardly take 3 hours in private
vehicle. Here is the detailed route to Polo forest:
Ahmedabad – Gandhinagar – Himmatnagar – Idar –
Turn right from Vijaynagar cross road (take vijaynagar road) – Abhapur – Polo
Forest

Do not disturbs the animals during day
time as most of the nocturnal animals sleep during day time.

Do not tries to irritate the animals or
make them angry by teasing them.

Camping and picnicking is not allowed
within the park.
·
No smoking
·
No flash or intrusive photography
·
Do not carries any music system or
sound making device along with you and remember to keep them switched off if
you are driving around.
·
Picking plants or insects is prohibited
in any area; do not remove anything from the parks or sanctuaries.
·
Do not indulges in any quick or sudden
movements to scare off wildlife.
·
Do not try going too close to the
animals.
·
No pets should accompany you.
·
Don’t forget to carry some water and
eatables ‘cause there is not much available after Idar.
